How replica watches companies are helping to save the planet

The perils of climate change and poor environmental policies are well documented. There are a number of ways we can help save our planet, and replica watches companies are getting involved in the solutions. This is one in a series of articles that explores that involvement.

The Audemars Piguet Foundation was established out of the love of trees, particularly the trees in the replica Audemars Piguet watches company’s own back yard. Audemars Piguet’s headquarters, the Manufacture des Forges, is surrounded by the Grand Risoux forest in the Vallée de Joux near the village of Le Brassus, the heart of Swiss watchmaking. It is an old-world forest, with trees nearly as tall as the mountains, and thanks to the Audemars Piguet Foundation, it is well protected.

1a90f8a2a4The Foundation is headed by Jasmine Audemars, AP’s chairwoman and the great granddaughter of company co-founder Jules Audemars. It was started by her father, Jacques-Louis Audemars, who was technical director for the company and chairman of the board from 1959 to 1992, when Jasmine took over. “Forest conservation was an obvious concern for us,” she says. “Just by looking at the forests that surround us in the Vallée de Joux, one can understand their importance to us locals. The Foundation was born out of this love and respect for the valley, as a formal way to guard the forests that surround the region of its origins.” Audemars Piguet replica does this by funding the Garden of Time, a public park that incorporates an historical walking tour, with educational stations and plantings that culminate in an exhibit of a fossil – a 16,000-year-old mold of a mammoth, found in 1969 in a nearby gravel pit. The park sits on the old, disused platforms of Le Brassus train station.

More than 80 projects

The Foundation was launched in 1992 with the primary goal of forest conservation and reconstitution. Since its establishment, the AP Foundation has financed more than 80 projects in 40 countries from Senegal to Scotland. It has supported the planting of trees and shrubs in locales ranging from the foothills of the Himalayas to the Cerrado savannah in Brazil. Current initiatives include restoration of sustainable agriculture in Orissa, India, and biodiversity work at a nature park in Madagascar. Other notable examples include a program in Nainital, in the North of India, to assist the return to traditional agriculture and symposiums on the forest in Miyazaki, Japan.

b080b9cf06“There is great need around the fake watches world today for the replenishing of forests and restoration of the biodiversity of biotopes destroyed by natural disasters, over-use and climate changes,” explains Jasmine Audemars, who says Foundation’s ancillary goal is to raise awareness of conservation among young people – thereby preserving the notion of preservation itself.

The New Heritage Chronometrie Dual Time Vasco Da Gama 238 Limited Edition Watch from Montblanc

It was just over a year and a half ago that i had the distinct privilege of traveling with Montblanc replica watches to Capetown, South Africa. There, the brand celebrated the unveiling of an all new line that would not be seen by the world until SIHH of this year. That line, the Heritage, also had components in it that celebrated the pioneering and adventurous spirit of explorer Vasco da Gama.

Today, continuing in the spirit of precision engineering and navigation, Montblanc adds a new dimension to the Heritage Vasco da Gama line up: the Heritage Chronometrie Dual Time Vasco da Gama 238 Limited Edition. We have covered this Tag Heuer replica watches thoroughly earlier today in our column, but now we want to bring you just a few more details about the line and the making of the new caliber.

The dial is harmoniously balanced with night sky as seen from Southern Hemisphere and world map

Under the watchful eye of Jerome Lambert, global CEO of Montblanc, the company has moved forward with a deft blend of the Montblanc advanced watchmaking technology and the Villeret craftsmanship. Villeret, after all, is the haute horlogerie division of the brand. We also toured this facility and you can read an entire article about Villeret/Minerva here. The concept is to bring the ability and knowledge of the high-end Panerai replica of watchmaking and infuse the already strong main watch collection with elements that bring it to a new level.

Such elements include adding complication modules that have been developed in Villeret to Montblanc replica watches, and applying new techniques and technologies to watch dials that offer a cutting edge of sophistication. In the new watch, these factors are evident. The watch houses the Caliber MB 29.19 automatic Dual Time movement. The dual time complication (with 21 components) was developed by Montblanc’s top master watchmakers at Villeret and added to this Cartier fake watches to enable the wearer to see both  home time zone and  second time zone (local time) simultaneously off of a stunning dial. The dial features a  night sky disk with am/pm indications around it at 12:00. (The disk depicts the sky as seen in the Southern Hemisphere complete with the Southern Cross constellation.) Beneath the night-sky disk  is a beautiful  world map disk– that has been creating using new technology that seems to transform the flat disk to  a three-dimensional rendition.

Replica Cape Point

The disks further underscore the concept of travel (as does the Dual Time zone function) and makes another connection between heritage and vision of the brand, and between the  vision and spirit of Vasco da Gama, whose travels in the late 1400’s led to the opening of a gateway of trade with India.  Again, for more details on the watch, visit our column on Forbes.com.  The Swiss replica watches is built in a limited edition of just 238 pieces — so numbered for the height of the lighthouse on Cape Point at the Cape of Good Hope, around which da Gama sailed in the 15th century in his efforts to open the seaway to India. The watch is expected to retail for approximately $6,750.
